Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. Duties

As a Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  • Supporting individuals with mobility and physical activities.
  • Communicating effectively with residents to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Maintaining accurate care plans and documentation to ensure personalised care is provided.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the care environment.
  • Engaging residents in social activities to promote mental well-being.
  • Driving residents to appointments or outings as required.

Experience

The successful candidate should ideally have:

  • Previous experience in home care or a similar role within a care home setting.
  • Strong English language skills for effective communication with residents and team members.
  • Basic IT skills for maintaining records and documentation.
  • A valid driving licence and own car would be advantageous.
  • A caring attitude and the ability to work well within a team environment.
  • The ability to adapt to new situations and new people with ease, confidence and poise is hugely beneficial in this role.

Pay: £11.50-£14.34 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 37.5 per week

  • Southampton SO14 3LP: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

  • Care home: 1 year (preferred)
  • Home care: 1 year (required)

Language:

  • English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • UK Driving Licence (required)

Work authorisation:

  • United Kingdom (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 100% (required)
