Your new role

As a Health & Safety Advisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing a safe workplace without risk to health.
  • Providing advice and support to all areas of the business.
  • Helping the manager to manage and develop the H&S department, including training and supervising H&S staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with all current H&S legislation and best practices.
  • Acting as the main H&S regulatory liaison, communicating with relevant bodies (customers, HSE, etc.).
  • Conducting regular H&S audits of all construction sites and implementing necessary measures from audits/assessments.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor, preferably within the real estate or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures, including local, state, and federal laws.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and risk assessment to identify potential hazards and implement effective control measures.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation skills to ensure compliance and identify safety risks.
  • Excellent communication and advisory skills to effectively liaise with management, employees, and regulatory bodies.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety, such as NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent.
  • A degree in safety management or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to deliver training sessions and briefings to help employees understand safe working practices.
  • Experience in investigating accidents or near misses and developing strategies to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Capability to create and update health and safety policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
