Salary: £21-£25 per hour (DOE)
Myn is recruiting on behalf of our long-term partner for a Personal Advisor to support young people aged 16 to 25 going through the asylum process. This role is crucial in helping these individuals navigate their path to adulthood by providing guidance, support, and care in line with the Leaving Care Act 2000.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide advice and support to young people aged 16 to 25 going through the asylum process.
- Deliver statutory responsibilities under the Leaving Care Act 2000 to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
- Collaborate with partners, including solicitors and the Home Office, to meet the individual needs of young people.
- Participate in pathway planning, helping young people achieve their goals and address their unique strengths and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct home visits, community work, and meetings, both in Council offices and remotely.
- Travel across the UK as required to attend meetings, liaise with agencies, and provide necessary support.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with young people, families, or vulnerable individuals, providing high-quality services.
- Strong knowledge of the Leaving Care Act 2000 and issues impacting young people leaving care.
- Adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively to changing circumstances.
- Excellent communication skills and a creative, solution-focused approach to supporting young people.
- Self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in IT to support case management and record-keeping.
- A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel across the UK.
- The role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
