Housing Support Worker - Chester
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an experienced Housing Support Worker on a temporary basis, with temp to perm opportunities available in the Chester area on behalf of one of our Social Housing clients who provide supported housing for vulnerable individuals facing homelessness.
You will be working a set rota, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays each week (7am to 8pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch).
Your new role- Supporting customers on a 1:1 basis and offering advice, guidance and practical help to access and maintain independent accommodation
- Completing assessments of need & risk, and co-creating support plans with motivating, achievable outcomes
- Supporting with tasks to help customers manage their tenancy or prevent issues of ASB, getting into work, budgeting and healthy lifestyle choices
- Actioning referrals and enquiries
- Signposting and referring to external agencies to support personal barriers to independence such as substance/alcohol misuse, mental health or debt
- Assisting with applications for welfare benefits where appropriate
- Routine health & safety checks and room inspections, identifying any causes for concern/safeguarding and reporting repairs
- Working with partners, agencies, housing providers, charities, community groups and Local Authority
- Minimum 6 months' experience working within a supported housing setting, providing one-to-one support to vulnerable individuals facing homelessness
- Experience of completing assessments of need/risk and devising support plans
- Knowledge and understanding of welfare benefits system, safeguarding, PPP and relevant housing/homelessness legislation
- Enhanced Adults DBS - preferably on update service
- Weekly pay
- Temp to perm opportunities
- Hourly rates up to £15.75ph (option to be paid PAYE/Umbrella)
