Design Technology and Food Technician
We are looking for a friendly and capable Food Technician to join our growing Food and Design Technology department to support classroom teachers by preparing, organising and maintaining the equipment and the learning environment, managing the ordering and receipt of ingredients and materials and assisting pupils during practical activities.
The successful candidate will be part of a technical team and will work closely with the Senior Technician to support the Food and Design Technology faculty to deliver an engaging and varied practical curriculum. This crucial and very popular element of our curriculum enables pupils to learn about healthy eating and practical food preparation.
The successful candidate will ideally have working knowledge or a background in food preparation/handling. Experience of working within a school environment is desirable although not essential.
The Food Technician will share the academy's vision and the belief that all young people can achieve. Other necessary qualities include confidentiality, efficiency and being able to work on your own initiative and under pressure and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) and King’s Academy Oakwood (KAO).
The post is for 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (term time only plus 2 days). Support outside of the school day may be required for events such as open evenings.
Salary is KGA Band 4, points 4- 6. FTE £24,420pa
- £25,652pa pro rata with £706 Outer London Fringe, pro rata.
