BAND 5 registered nurse position within a well established and friendly team.

ARCU is a 12 bedded ward based at the QMC campus, who care for level 1 and 2 patients. All beds are monitored and we provide high acuity respiratory care such as non invasive ventilation, tracheostomies, high flow oxygen and close observation .

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Advanced Respiratory Care Unit (ARCU), currently based on D55 at the QMC, for a staff nurse, band 5 position.

ARCU is a 12-bedded monitored unit that provides aspects of level 1 and 2 care. We have particular interest and expertise with acutely unwell respiratory patients who require non-invasive ventilation and high flow oxygen therapies. The majority of our patients are admitted directly from the emergency department, but others are referred in from base wards, or stepped down from critical care areas.

All beds are monitored and we provide high acuity respiratory care such as non invasive ventilation, tracheostomies, high flow oxygen and close observation .

This position would suit a newly qualified nurse, but also a band 5 nurse wanting to specialise within the exciting speciality of respiratory medicine.

You will need to be enthusiastic, hardworking and a team player. You must be keen to learn and develop your knowledge of respiratory medicine.

You must have an interest in respiratory medicine and caring for acutely unwell patients.

As a band 5 staff nurse you will be given a preceptor and mentor to help you adjust to your new position. You will also be given a team leader.

Respiratory Medicine is a growing service which also includes a specialised admission area, 3 base wards, a CF unit, and a discharge lounge service.

There are opportunities to rotate throughout all the areas. We have a well established respiratory education programme and access to a variety of specialist nurse services for learning and development.
