Primary Role Purpose:
As a key member of the MBU Business Operations team, you will provide trusted, hands-on tactical support to BU sales leadership and teams, ensuring they can maximise sales performance, adopt new approaches, and drive continuous improvement. This role is pivotal in managing sales data, optimising CRM systems, streamlining workflows, and improving processes across the Lead-to-Order (LTO) value chain.The purpose of the MBU Business Operations team is to have a small team of multi-discipline people who can ensure that the central functions, process, and systems, perform to the level that the MBU requires in order to meet its targets.
The day-to-day:
Sales Operations & Process Optimisation- Act as the key interface between MBU functions and various projects/programs, ensuring alignment with the BU strategy and customer needs.
- Support the Senior Director of Business Operations in managing key programs and initiatives related to the Lead-to-Order value chain.
- Engage closely with sales to ensure a common and consistent understanding of ongoing projects, programs, and process improvement initiatives.
- Lead and support commercial launches of new and existing products within the Lead-to-Order value chain.
- Provide trusted support to BU sales leadership, enabling them to maximise effectiveness and efficiency.
- Assist Account Managers and Sales Directors in ensuring the consistent execution of the sales process across accounts.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews and planning processes, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
- Actively participate in sales team meetings, identifying training needs and delivering workshops to enhance sales effectiveness.
- Drive Salesforce adoption, ensuring competency and performance through practical guidance and user support.
- Champion continuous sales process improvement, maintaining high quality, accuracy, and consistency levels.
- Lead the identification, clarification, and communication of improvements in the Lead-to-Order process.
- Conduct tailored Salesforce training sessions for Executive Leadership, managers, and users to enhance adoption and data accuracy.
- Contribute to the development and optimisation of the sales technology stack, evaluating new tools to:
- Improve sales pipeline accuracy
- Accelerate the sales cycle
- Enhance team efficiency
- Improve customer experience
- Analyse sales performance data to generate actionable insights and forecasts.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and finance teams to streamline processes, optimise pricing strategies, and support contract administration.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sales operations.
- Support the implementation of digital tools and automation to improve operational efficiency.
What you'll need:
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Proactive self-starter with positive “can do “problem solving attitude.
- Strong experience in Sales Operations, preferably within the maritime industry.
- Strong knowledge of CRM systems, sales analytics, and process optimization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within high-paced environment and learn new tools quickly
- Demonstrable experience of working effectively in a matrix environment in an international environment.
- Demonstrated ability to define, refine and implement sales processes, procedures, and policies
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Displays high attention to detail and excellent analytical skills combined with financial and maritime business acumen.
- Pro-active communicator – natural sharer of information and collaborator across teams.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce High skill level in Excel, Power Point and Tableau Software
- Running Workshops across Sales Channels and the central functions that deliver the products and tools that they use
- Project planning and delivery
- Experience of working with IT stakeholders using agile methodology, scrums, JIRA
