We are seeking a detail-oriented and M&E biased Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. You will ensure that projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards, providing expert advice on cost and contracts throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of our projects, ensuring value for money and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to manage costs and monitor project progress, providing expert advice and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Your role will be vital in maintaining the financial health of our projects, from initial estimates to final accounts.

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and other expenses.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability and profitability and risks.

Tender and Contract Management:

  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
  • Evaluate and negotiate tenders and contracts with contractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor and manage contract variations and claims, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.

Project Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Develop and update detailed Job Cost Reports, Cashflow, variation trackers, Risk register and contingency monitoring.
  • Administer the contract assessing all change against the contract.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to specifications and budgets.
  • Undertake monthly valuation walks approving payment for works achieved.
  • Prepare and present detailed monthly reports on project performance, costs, and progress to stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Procurement and Vendor Management:

  • Supported by supply chain management, source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best prices and terms.
  • With the project manager track procurement and ensure timely procurement of materials and services required for project execution.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and manage supplier performance.

Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant legal, safety, and quality standards.
  • Advise on contractual and legal matters, including dispute resolution.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Mechanical Electrical quantity surveying role within the construction industry.
  • Professional accreditation such as MRICS or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Proficient in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
