Receptionist
Location: On site, Westbury-on-Trym BS9 3BA
Hours: This position is a part time position, 16 hours a week (including a 30-minute lunch). Hours are Tuesday 8am – 4pm and Friday 8am – 4pm
The closing date for this position will be Thursday 5th June
Interviews will be taking place on Thursday 12th June

We are currently looking for a dynamic and inspiring Receptionist to join our school Office team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide a warm, professional and courteous welcome to all visitors
- Answer all incoming calls and transfer or take message as appropriate
- Act as first point of call for pupils, working closely with the School Office
- Liaise daily with the Admissions team to ensure a warm welcome is given to guests/prospective parents
- Oversee the internal room booking system ensuring facilities are prepared/booked in advance and liaising with the Domestic Team as needed
- Sorting and distribution of external mail
- Support the School Office and other departments as required
- Play a key role in the safeguarding function of the reception area
- Employ good subject knowledge, become fully acquainted with the appropriate specifications and schemes of work and carry out the requirements thereof
- Set and mark work regularly for all pupils, in accordance with departmental guideline
- Attend all relevant meetings (with staff, parents, pupils, prospective parents and pupils, and visitors)
- Invigilate internal and external examinations and provide cover, within reasonable limits, for absent colleagues as required
- Adhere to the staff dates list and attend staff meetings, in-service training, a limited number of whole school events as identified by the Head and support school activities

- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels
- Experience of delivering excellent service in a customer-focused role
- Strong IT skills and computer literacy
- Ability to work confidentially and with discretion
- Ability to manage difficult situations using tact and diplomacy
- Previous experience of working in a school would be an advantage but is not essential. Most importantly, you will be efficient, keen to learn with a common-sense approach and willing to get involved in all aspect of school life.
