Site Engineer

A leading Civil Engineering contractor based in Suffolk, but operating throughout the UK. They deliver high-quality civil engineering projects in various sectors including highways, bridges, infrastructure, flood defence, energy, and rail.Your new role
Due to an increase in workload, you will join the team as a Site engineer and will specialise in Site setting out for large infrastructure/road schemes in the Suffolk area.
Responsibilities:
- Perform setting out tasks using total stations, GPS equipment, and traditional methods such as profiles, batter rails, and pegs.
- Read and review construction drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct basic take-offs for project planning and estimation.
- Raise technical queries with designers and other client team members to clarify project details.
- Carry out inspections and testing to ensure the works conform to design and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental policies, as well as company procedures.
- Understand commercial aspects of projects, including the difference between cost and value
- A B.Sc., HND, HNC qualification, or equivalent.
- Previous civil engineering experience, especially in highways schemes with a main contractor.
- A CSCS card.
- An SMSTS card and ICE membership.
- A full UK driving licence, as the role involves travel throughout our Eastern Region.
- A First Aid at Work qualification (desirable)
