Job overview

West Essex Community Health Services have a part time vacancy as Referral Coordinator within the Care Coordination Centre based at St Margaret's Hospital Epping
  • Supporting the clinical team to screen and process referrals for the CCC.
  • Line management of band 3 staff
  • To work as a member of the WECHS Administration Service ensuring that a high quality and efficient service is provided at all times, which may include giving support and providing cover in other areas as requested.
  • To operate as a centralised administration service providing a comprehensive administration service to support clinical services and functions within the Trust’s localities.
  • The Administration Assistant will ensure the timely and accurate recording of all activity across services using trust information systems.
  • The postholder will require a team approach to ensure cover for absence across all services / locations and the post holder will be required, on occasion, to relocate to provide this cover.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as Referral Coordinator within the Care Coordination Centre for 16 hours per week

We are looking for experienced candidates with an excellent level of administration, interpersonal and organisational skills. You will also need to be computer literate with experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. You will be given full training on the various systems that we use.

We are looking for someone with a positive and compassionate approach to supporting patient care. The role will include face to face contact and telephone calls from patients. Due to the nature of the services we carry out administrative support for these can sometimes be distressing.

Successful candidates will be expected to work in the organisation, providing services in a professional, efficient, friendly and polite manner.

You must be able to build effective working relationships, be approachable and accessible with a flexible approach to work. This is an excellent career development opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who wishes to pursue an administrative career in the NHS.
