Senior Application Engineer
Attwood Perks has been instructed by a rapidly evolving business in Ipswich who are looking for a Senior Application Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team on a permanent basis.
This business is renowned for exceptional training and development and, as a Senior Application Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership, driving innovation, and mentoring junior team members while ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of projects.
This position can be primarily remote for the right person with the expectation to go into the offices on occasion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable software applications to meet business requirements.
- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, reviewing code and offering technical advice.
- Project Management: Lead project teams, manage timelines, and ensure that project deliverables are met on time and within scope.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Stakeholders to understand their business needs, provide technical recommendations, and deliver tailored solutions.
- System Integration: Integrate third-party applications and APIs, ensuring smooth communication between different software systems.
- Problem-Solving: Identify technical challenges and provide efficient, innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and methodologies, and drive continuous improvements within the team.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain documentation related to system design, architecture, and project specifications.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of modern programming languages (e.g. C#, Python) and associated frameworks.
- System Architecture: Experience in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance architectures.
- Database Management: Proficient in SQL and relational database systems/
- Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum/Kanban), with a strong understanding of Agile principles.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading a team of engineers and driving successful project outcomes.
What you will bring:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in software development or application engineering.
- Prior experience in a senior engineering role.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Developer) are a plus.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
