An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Officer – Admin Team Leader & PA to the Triumvirate to join the Long Term, Urgent, Cancer and Community (LTUCC) Directorate at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT).
This full‑time Band 5 role offers a varied and rewarding opportunity to provide high‑level business and administrative support to senior leaders, while leading the Directorate Administrative Team. The role plays a key part in supporting effective governance, quality, performance and service delivery across a large and complex directorate.
Main duties of the job
Provide high‑level PA and business support to the Directorate Triumvirate
Lead, manage and develop the Directorate Administrative Team
Coordinate Directorate‑level meetings, governance and action tracking
Support quality, patient safety, audit and risk management processes
Act as Admin Lead for HDFT Impact
Contribute to service improvement and modern ways of working

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment, providing leadership, coordination and professional support across the LTUCC Directorate.
Key responsibilities include managing administrative services, coordinating governance and quality activity, and providing effective executive support to senior leaders. The role requires excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and sensitive information while working closely with clinical and managerial colleagues across the Trust.

Experience
Essential criteria- Relevant experience.
- High level of experience working in an administrative role, including minute taking, diary management and co-ordination of meetings
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Staff supervision, leadership, development and motivation; managing sickness absence, annual leave and prioritising workload
- Supervisory or management qualification
- Managing self and teams to meet deadlines and changing priorities
- Previous relevant NHS experience in supervisory position
- Knowledge of HDFT Systems
- Experience of working in the NHS or similar health care environment
