Job overview

We are looking for Band 5 nurses to work in the Neuroradiology Department. The role will include working closely with a multi-disciplinary team of consultants, neuroradiographers, HCA and clerical/admin staff to provide nursing care to the patients referred to Neuroradiology for imaging, investigation or treatment.

Main duties of the job
  • Assist as a scrub nurse and circulation nurse for neurovascular interventional procedures and other interventional procedures working closely with Consultant Neuroradiologists

To provide nursing support in Neuroradiology.

To assist with clinical procedures within MRI and CT

To provide a high standard of individualised nursing care to patients, with the support of senior staff, whilst developing core knowledge and skills in the specialist area of Neuroradiology. Training will be given in all necessary areas.
Performing telephone pre-assessments to check suitability for day case procedures.
Assisting with pain lists; assessments, observations and assisting the pain professional.
To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

The post holder will be expected to take advantage of opportunities to contribute to research, audit and service development.
