Covering Harlow
Hours – 37.5 per week
Working Pattern – Monday to Friday
Salary – £25,000 – £28,000 (+£300 location allowance) per annum

Summary

Criminal Justice Recovery Workers will be part of the All Age Recovery Service (AARCS) team working specifically with clients involved with the criminal justice system. Being required to encourage, initiate and sustain recovery, workers will facilitate both 1:1 and group-based psychosocial interventions with prolific offenders, whilst maintaining excellent relationships with partnership agencies.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for the care co-ordination of each client, including case management and the facilitation of a group programme that will involve an element of complimentary therapies.

The Criminal Justice Recovery Workers’ ultimate aims are to:
  • Increase the number of offenders engaged in structured substance misuse treatment.
  • Support clients to reduce their substance misuse and aspire towards achieving and sustaining recovery.
  • Educate clients around harm minimisation to help reduce the likelihood of drug-related deaths across the county.
  • Support clients to address and reduce their drug-related reoffending.

What you need
  • Ideally, experience working within substance misuse and/or criminal justice settings.
  • Experience of, and/or confidence in, delivering group-based psychosocial interventions is preferred.
  • An awareness of the issues facing those involved in the criminal justice system that struggle with addiction, and how these can impede progress and ultimate recovery.
  • Excellent communication, time management and administrative skills.
  • A willingness to learn and work with a variety of people.
  • Have a clear understanding of, and a commitment to safeguarding best practice.
  • A commitment to multi-agency working, and be able to work in partnership with other agencies within the treatment system to achieve good outcomes for clients.
  • Ability to drive and access to a car.
