The Company
My client a market leading food manufacturer who are experiencing significant growth. They have a clear path for future company growth and a track record of progressing their employee’s careers. Due to continued growth they are looking for a Quality Contract Technologist to their team.
You will be joining a team of experienced industry professionals with a chance to gain exposure to a wide variety of tasks in a fast-moving & expanding business.
What the Quality Contract Technologist will do:
- Consistently create and issue accurate & detailed QCs to the required standard
- Attending internal & customer meetings in a professional manner
- Drawing on quality, bakery, and manufacturing knowledge & providing ad hoc product quality information when requested
- Leading the QC Technician to efficiently obtain sufficient data from trials and management of the QC filing system & trackers
- Confidently facilitate a collective approval of the QC
- Ability to work within the QC team and manage own workload in adherence to a critical path.
Experience of the Quality Contract Technologist:
- Experience in working with a the major UK retailers, with a customer orientated mindset & knowledge of Customer Stage & Gate Processes and Critical Path Timelines
- Bakery product knowledge and good understanding of methods of manufacturing ideally from a Degree in Food Science & Technology/ related subject OR 2 years’ experience in the food industry in NPD/ other functions e.g., process, technical, production
- Excellent planning, organising & time management skills, with the ability to self-manage, work on multiple projects & re-prioritise, according to an evolving critical path.
- An understanding around Organoleptic Assessment, Customer Quality Expectations, Key Quality Attributes, and Quality Control Points
- Good communication skills
- Ability to engage and work as part of a cross-functional team whilst demonstrating excellent influencing / negotiation skills and respecting individual opinions.
- Accuracy and Exceptional attention to detail is vital, with ability to work to a consistent high standard.
- Good data analysis skills and experience of working in an environment based upon high detail/proof reading/accurate data transfer is required, whilst working towards deadlines
- Customer facing experience.
- Fully competent with MS Office Excel, Word, Teams

Working hours for this role are 8:30 - 17:00 Mon -Thurs, 08:30 - 16:00 Fri, however some flexibility maybe required according to business needs.
