Healthy Child Programme Practice Educator
Full-time post (37.5 hours)
Foster an environment which values education as part of the philosophy of the practice area.
To support the development of appropriate skills within the Health Visiting, School Nursing and Immunisation Teams, for effective delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.
To work in supporting and implementing local and national policies for children's services across the age range 0-19 years.
To promote standardised working practices within the skill mix and workforce development.
To undertake a regular programme of training needs analysis with Health Visiting, School Nursing and Immunisation teams and develop a comprehensive continuous development plans. To support staff in achieving appropriate competencies.
To support the recruitment and oversight of student placements, including specialist practice teachers.
To facilitate induction for students and new starters.
The post holder will establish and maintain links with academic institutions.Act as a role model for best practice
Support individual and team practice development.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
To work with the team leaders to support excellence in clinical practice to facilitate quality service delivery and improved outcomes for children. young people and families.
To be involved in clinical supervision and advice to staff in practice. planning induction and preceptorship programmes, teaching and assessment to meet agreed national and local competencies and to support re validation for NMC registered staff.
To be involved in the development of new policies, standards and operational frameworks to support integrated working practices.To provide annual audits and evaluate clinical areas to improve service users' experience and appropriate use of resources if and when required.
