Social Worker (AMHP) – Dedicated AMHP role
Overview:
London Borough of Harrow is looking for a qualified Social Worker, Nurse or Occupational Therapist (AMHP) – Dedicated AMHP role to join it's Adult Social Care service.
Tasks include working within a dedicated Approved Mental Health Professional service providing Mental Health Act assessment during office hours (and as required beyond) for residents of Harrow who require this statutory service.
The post holder will work in partnership with other emergency services, including the Police, LAS, A&E staff and the Fire Service, where necessary and appropriate. The post holder will be expected to carry out statutory duties relating to adults and older people.All duties performed will be in accordance with the appropriate policies and procedures for Harrow Council.
About you:
The successful candidate will have:
- A recognised professional Social Work, Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy qualification, e.g. CQSW, Diploma or Degree in Social Work or equivalent for Nurses and OT's
- Registered with the relevant regulatory body, e.g. Social Work England
- Detailed knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and related regulations and guidance.
- Understanding of the main types of disability and mental disorder and the needs of service users and their family / carers.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Ability to make accurate and timely case recording and to update client information IT systems.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience
- An acceptable enhanced DBS check. (This post is exempt from Section 4 (2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 as the duties allow the post holder access to children and young people under 18 years of age and other vulnerable adults. Applicants are not entitled to withhold information about any convictions, spent or otherwise, and are required to notify the Council of any matters pending). Any job offer is dependent upon DBS clearance.
