We are looking for an experienced professional to become the deputy manager for Melksham CAMHS. You will be a qualified professional (Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Psychologist, Family Therapist or Psychotherapist) with professional registration.We are seeking people with an interest in leadership and in developing staff, whilst continuing to work with children and young people directly as part of a strongly embedded multi-disciplinary team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join OHFT CAMHS, the trust is fully dedicated to supporting staff and career progression. You will receive high levels of support, mentoring and training to enable you to do your role. The service welcomes professionals from other areas of work who wish to transfer their skills.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with the Clinical Team Manager to ensure the successful and effective day-to-day operational management of Melksham Community CAMHS so that it provides a responsive, high quality service to children, young people and their families.The post holder will contribute to the clinical leadership of the team, providing supervision for other team members and participate in the service development of the team.
In this role, you will have specific lead areas and jointly with the leadership team will deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for children, young people and their families experiencing mental health difficulties.
Liaison, advice and consultation with wider CAMHS and Children services colleagues and a range of external agencies such as Children’s Social Care, Education, Youth Offending Services and Police is also central to the role.
You will hold a small clinical caseload and have the opportunity to develop both your leadership/clinical skill set as part of an existing strong leadership team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Oxford health NHS Foundation trust that provides the Melksham CAMHS provision is a forward thinking and innovative trust. Locally there is support to ensure you can train in specific areas of interest i.e. DBT, motivational interviewing, mentalisation based therapy and systemic practices and many more.Supervision is key to the practice of clinicians in CAMHS. You will be part of a dynamic local leadership team that meet frequently and work closely together.
You will also be required to contribute to the on call, out of hours rota. Staff are provided an uplift for this and the frequency and further details can be discussed at interview.
Clinical:
- Undertake a lead role for children and young people open to the team and work collaboratively with young people, their families, Care Coordinator and wider care team in the context of their environment.
- Providing effective assessment, planning and review of care needs using the core clinical standards.
- Establishing, maintaining and ending purposeful, therapeutic relationships with children and young people experiencing severe mental health difficulties. Practice will be creative and underpinned by specialist knowledge of, and skills in, evidence based and psychosocial interventions.
- Supporting the delivery of clinical pathways and processes across the dynamic treatments.
- Supporting the Team Manager through contributing to clinical leadership within the Team.
- To deputise and provide cover for the team manager when required
- Providing clinical advice and support for other members of the team.
- To develop an area of specialist practice and knowledge within the team and to provide specialist advice, information and supervision (according to level of competence and experience) for other team members. To act as a team representative and to develop and maintain links with other professionals and other agencies in relation to this area of specialist practice.
- Providing management supervision to qualified and/or unqualified members of staff.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Relevant professional mental health qualification.: Mental Health Nurse/Learning Disability Nurse/Occupational Therapist/Social Worker/Clinical Psychologist
- Current registration with relevant professional body – NMC, HCPC etc
Experience
Essential criteria- Understanding and experience of working with children and young people with a wide range of mental health needs
- Experience of and commitment to working in a multi-agency setting working in partnership with a range of health, social care and education professionals
- Experience of care coordination/lead professional

Essential criteria- Compassionate – exceptional interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers and relatives remaining sensitive and empathetic.
