### **Role Overview:**
As an **SEN Teaching Assistant** , you will be an essential part of theeducational journey for students with various learning needs, including those
with SEN, SLDPMLD, ADHD, and ASD. Your primary role will be to support the
teacher in creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment
that promotes each students emotional, social, and academic development.
### **Primary Responsibilities:**- **Promote Student Welfare:** Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in line with the schools safeguarding policies and the PREVENT initiative.
- **Assist Learning Activities:** Work closely with teachers to implement engaging and appropriate learning activities tailored to individual student needs, fostering a holistic learning experience.
- **Positive Relationships:** Build strong, trusting relationships with students, ensuring they feel supported in both their academic and emotional journeys.
- **Learning Support:** Provide additional explanations and tailored support to students during lessons, enabling them to make progress in their learning.
- **Track Progress:** Assist in gathering evidence of student achievements, supporting teachers in monitoring and assessing progress.
- **Feedback & Evaluation:** Contribute to the evaluation of learning activities and provide constructive feedback on student performance.
- **Record Keeping:** Help maintain comprehensive documentation of student progress, in line with the schools tracking and reporting processes.
### **Ideal Candidate Profile:**
#### **Qualifications:**- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- GCSE English and Maths, grade C (or 4 under the new system) or above
- Experience working with students with SEN, SLDPMLD, ADHD, and ASD
- Familiarity with safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
- Experience in using positive behaviour management strategies, including approaches for managing challenging behaviours
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting is preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, inclusive environment
