C&I Commissioning Technician

Overview:

The Commissioning Technician (Discipline) is responsible and shall ensure that the actual commissioning work is carried out safely and in accordance with the agreed protocols and that any proposed deviations are managed to ensure that at completion of the commissioning work the life-time records for the facility are clear and unambiguous.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Completions and Commissioning Technician (Discipline) shall:

  • Actively promote and support implementation of Project safety culture, practices and procedures.
  • Study and become familiar with the relevant drawings, scope of work, specifications, materials and equipment schedules.
  • Be familiar with applicable National and International standards and their application in the execution of the construction work.
  • Develop the commissioning protocols that clearly describe the commissioning methodologies for the electrical equipment and manage & approve any proposed changes.
  • Confirm that the requirements of the commissioning protocols have been performed and witnessed by the appropriate authorised person(s).
  • Liaise with Sub-contractors, Vendors & Suppliers to ensure that they have full comprehension of the services and activities that they are to undertake. Arrange for such work to be carried out to support the overall commissioning schedule.
  • Ensure that the life-time records demanded through the ITP’s are delivered accurately and in accordance with the requirements of the time schedule.
  • Assist in servicing of the Completions Database, managing Work Packs throughout the installation and commissioning process.

Qualifications:

All candidates should hold the following Qualifications & certification:

  • N/SVQ Level 3 / 4 Year Apprenticeship / Modern Apprenticeship / College Qualification in Instrumentation.
  • CompEX 01-04.

Ideally, candidates will also have the following experience:

  • Demonstrate experience in similar role in Oil and Gas Projects.
  • Delivery focused with proven experience in achieving Projects goals whilst maintaining high standards in HSEQ at all times.
  • Knowledge of O&G related HSEQ safe working practices / procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Commissioning process and its implementation.
  • Experienced in team working.
  • Understanding of the principles of trade systems.
  • Able to interface and interact with Management and Client representatives at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Permit to Work systems.
