This is a exciting opportunity for an experienced registered professional to join our Nurse Advisor team to lead, support and manage our flexible nursing bank.

The successfully candidate will contribute to improving quality of service provided to Care Groups by leading the Trust bank workers, linking in with a broad range of stakeholders both internally and externally. As a Nurse Advisor, you will be a strong clinical advocate for the service with close working relationships with multi-professionals across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an NMC registered nurse who will support the delivery of nursing care to patients, in line with specific standards within a given environment. The post holder will offer support to flexible workers through excellent leadership and management skills and professional nursing expertise.

The post holder will:

Provide Nursing leadership to all Bank Nurses, HCAs and related AHP’s providing flexible shifts into the Trust.

Support the recruitment of flexible workers to the bank service

Work with the learning and development service to ensure a flexible nursing and HCA workforce that is compliant with all training requirements.
Fully investigate all complaints regarding flexible workers on the bank, in a person-centred and compassionate way.
Ensure timely response to all complaints made in relation to the bank service.

Ensure the production of and adherence to clinical procedure and policy as appropriate.

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of professional development and continuous learning

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional registered nurse qualification
  • Maintain current registration with the NMC and adheres to NMC Code.
  • Demonstrates continued professional development within their specialism
Desirable criteria
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience
  • Member of CIPD – Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant relevant experience in recruitment and resourcing
  • Experience of sound budgetary management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office packages essential
  • Experience of working with computer databases essential
  • Experience of external partnership working and working into a health & social care system
Desirable criteria
  • Working in the NHS

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation, best practice and data protection principles
  • An understanding of the developments and future priorities of service change in the NHS and their impact on recruitment.
