COST Action Administrator
The Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies (AiPT) at Aston University, the ‘Grant Holder’, is therefore seeking to appoint an experienced part-time (0.5FTE) administrator to assume key responsibilities for the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Action of ‘ICPLASTIC’ (1 position; 0.5 FTE). The project, (www.cost.eu/actions/CA23131), is a consequence of AiPT’s successful leadership of a prestigious Horizon 2020 project on MNPs (www.MONPLAS.EU), and is set to grow to over 100 partners during its evolution.
The appointment is funded until 29/09/28, and applicants should be available to start their new role on 21st October 2024 or sooner if possible.
If successful, you will be expected to take responsibility for various administrative, financial and other contractual tasks, providing top-level project administration services to ‘ICPLASTIC’, to ensure that the Action is successfully run. You will report to the Grant Holder Scientific Representative/Action Chair, Dr Daniel Hill and be in direct contact, and work closely, with other representatives at the Grant Holder, as well as the Vice Chair and Administrative officer at COST.

In doing so you will become a member of a very experienced and supportive EC project management and administration team at AiPT, an institute within the College of Engineering Physical Sciences (EPS) with a long-standing track-record of successful implementation of UK and non-UK funded collaborative research projects and training networks.If successful, you will have the opportunity to fully integrate yourself into the team, also taking on further responsibilities on occasion, such as contributing to the preparation of new funding applications for further projects.
You should have a University degree, project administration experience, experience in financial administration and working with external stakeholders. You will also have outstanding organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, well-developed interpersonal and team-working skills and be pro-active.
