An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Support Team Manager who will be part of the Procurement Operations Team within NOE CPC.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individual looking to make a positive difference in

the NHS. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate strong personal skills, a sound understanding of public procurement practices and hands on experience of managing a team within a customer service function.

As part of the NOE CPC Procurement Operations Team, you will need to be able to:

  • Lead and managing the support desk team to ensure efficient handling of customer and supplier requests
  • Monitor service delivery, manage escalations, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction through best practice and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor and manage support ticket queues to ensure SLAs are met
  • Work closely with our Technical Services team to provide regular reports on support desk performance, trends, and issues to management
  • Have a strong customer focus, commercial acumen and a pro-active approach
  • Be well organised with an efficient approach to management of a varied-day to-day workload
  • Ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Build excellent working relationships with peers, colleagues, customers, suppliers and other external stakeholders.
  • Good working knowledge of the UK Public Procurement Regulations would be an advantage
  • Support the Procurement Delivery and Process Manager to ensure effective resource is in place in the timely delivery of procurement projects.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This role will work closely with and support the Head of Procurement Operations and Procurement Delivery and Process Manager to build effective working relationships with the specialist category teams within NOE CPC, external NHS customers and supplier organisations.

Experience of working in an operational procurement role with an organisation is desirable although not a necessity.

The role will involve a mix of office-based and home working, with occasional travel required for off-site meetings and training.

In the event this is not possible, an FTC would be issued and this would require a break in service of two weeks.

The purpose of a temporary is role could be for maternity cover, temporary funding or some other reason. At the end of which the need for the temporary work will cease. Temporary roles can stop, be extended and/or made permanent at any point during the period of work.

Should the role become permanent then the post-holder will be informed of the process to be followed to convert the position to a permanent one.
