Are you passionate about the outdoors and making a real difference in young people's lives? At Aurora Woodlands School, we're looking for an enthusiastic and committed Unqualified Teacher of Outdoor Education to inspire, engage and support our pupils through practical, hands-on learning experiences.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives outside the traditional classroom, bringing learning to life through outdoor activities while supporting children and young people with special educational needs (SEN).
  • About the Role

As our Outdoor Education Teacher, you will take the lead in delivering high-quality outdoor learning experiences that promote confidence, independence and teamwork. You'll play a vital role in supporting both the academic and personal development of our pupils.

You will:

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging outdoor education sessions
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress
  • Support children with a range of special educational needs
  • Contribute to a broad and balanced curriculum, including teaching other subjects where required
  • Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
  • Use local outdoor environments and facilities to enrich learning experiences
  • Support pupils to develop life skills, resilience and independence
  • What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A passion for outdoor learning and education
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally those with SEN
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and risk assessment in outdoor settings
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, inclusive learning activities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
  • Desirable Training & Experience:
  • Lowland Leader Award
  • Hill and Moorland Leader Award
  • Experience of leading or delivering the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE)
