37 Monday – Friday, 09:00 - 17:30
This opening assignment is for 2-3 months
City: KETTERING
Hybrid – need to do site visits and developer meetings dependent on projects being handled (which could be in person or on MS Teams – there needs to be flexibility).
Essential - attendance at planning committees to present items and respond to questions etc.
As a Senior Planning Officer, your role revolves around offering expert guidance in the realm of Development Management. This means you'll be the go-to person for providing appropriate pre-application advice and ensuring the effective and efficient handling of major planning applications, as well as various other types of planning requests and permissions.Your day to day will be varied and busy, you’ll be responsible for actively contributing to the efficient operation of the Planning Service and providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, including Councillors.

Qualifications:
A relevant degree and be eligible to be a member of the RTPI
Experience:
Experience of dealing with major planning applications.Experience of large scale residential projects over 100 units (reserved matters and outlines), large scale commercial and other complex or controversial projects.
Experience of EIA development.
Experience of the above with pre-application enquiries.
Experience of discharge of planning conditions and post decision enquiries, non-material amendments and S73 applications.
Excellent breadth of planning experience and ability to independently lead projects.
Experience of actively working on large, sustainable urban extensions - desirable
Skills & Abilities:
Good communications skills and a proactive approach are imperative.
