THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated and analytical graduate to join our Financial Analysis and Capital Planning team on a one-year fixed-term contract, supporting the function to deliver accurate, timely and insightful analysis to guide decision making across the Bank.This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial planning, budgeting, financial analysis and regulatory capital requirements, providing a broad introduction to the Finance function in a regulated banking environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Financial Reporting & Analysis- Assist with the timely preparation of monthly and quarterly management reports, including key variance analysis.
- Support the development of trend and business performance analysis, collaborating with the wider business to identify key themes and insights to support decision making.
- Support the development and maintenance of key financial models, including profitability models.
- Support the annual budgeting process, assisting in preparing budget templates, ensuring accuracy in budget models.
- Assist in gathering and consolidating budget inputs from business areas, reviewing against previous budget submissions.
- Participate in collation of presentation materials for budget reviews with senior management.
- Help track actual budget performance against plan, developing variance analysis and engaging with business areas to explain movements.
- Assist in the compilation of the multi-year plan, collaborating with Finance, Risk and Commercial teams to gather inputs for the planning process.
- Assist in producing scenario planning and stress testing within the team.
- Contribute to the preparation of regulatory submissions for capital adequacy, including the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process, Recovery and Resolution Plan, and Solvent Wind Down Plan.
- Support the enhancement of existing financial models, ensuring good model controls and documentation.
- Support the automation of routine financial reporting tasks, collaborating with the Data and Information team to streamline BAU processes.
- Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor performance and support data-driven decision-making.
- Undertake ad-hoc analysis and administrative support as required by the team.
- Provide analytical support for key strategic initiatives, new business cases, and product launches.
- Exposure to the key financial planning and capital planning cycles
- Understanding regulatory capital requirements
- Development of excel modelling and financial analysis skills
- Insight into developing strategy and optimising business performance.
- Educational Background
- Currently completing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accountancy, Economics, Mathematics or related discipline.
- Technical Skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data sets and draw meaningful conclusions and recommendations
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with aptitude for spreadsheet modelling.

- Previous experience or internships in financial analysis for any type of organisation.
