Key job responsibilities- You will own the integration layer with every living room device Prime Video runs on.
- You independently manage a software development team owning cross-functional software. You hire the right mix of SDEs to accomplish team goals.
- You will work with product and project teams to deliver the most innovative audio and video features.
- You will work closely with 3rd party partners (TV manufacturers, game consoles, chipset vendors, STBs and MVPDs).
- You will build automated solutions for device onboarding.
- You define metrics to measure team development progress, customer experience, and operational excellence.
- Your team has customer engagement mechanisms, adheres to SLAs, and effectively manages software operations.
About the team
You will join and manage a customer obsessed team. The team improves every day the streaming experience of our customers by pursuing the best audio, video and picture quality on each of the thousands devices we support. The team works with multiple internal Prime Video tech teams and with external partners.The team supports various OS and programming languages, building cross platform solutions. - Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience managing a team of high calibre Software Engineers developing complex, world class, scalable software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Bachelor's degree- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Video streaming knowledge
