SEND Teaching Assistant Job - South Nottinghamshire

As an SEND Primary Teaching Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners across Nottinghamshire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Individual / Group Support: Provide personalised support to students with SEMH needs, ensuring their well-being and engagement in learning.
• Behaviour Management: Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and minimise disruptions.
• Academic Assistance: Assist students in accessing the curriculum, adapting materials as needed.
• Emotional Support: Build strong relationships with students, offering emotional support and encouragement.
• Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.

Requirements:

• Experience in a school environment
• Relevant teaching assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
• Experience with working with SEND children is essential.
• Excellent classroom practice
• Behaviour management
• Enthusiasm and flexibility
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
