Do you love all things Regulatory Compliance and working with numerous stakeholders across a variety of countries? You're in luck! This role will be responsible for ensuring EIMEA regulatory compliance for products and related procedures/ documentation.

Accountable for monitoring, achieving and maintaining compliance for EIMEA across various markets and countries including: REACH, CLP, UFI and SDS management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Managing EIMEA regulatory compliance of products and associated activities including infrastructure, procedures, and documentation:
  • Assures that each formulation complies with all regulatory requirements in the region it is sold.
  • Accountable for ensuring regulatory compliance as a key contributor to business-critical projects, focusing on regulatory aspects of formulation, labeling, and supply chain activities. This includes maintaining product data accuracy and meeting documentation requirements.
  • Develops and manages a comprehensive chemical inventory list, entering ingredient data and specifications for all WD-40 Company formulations sold within the trade bloc. Ensures data accuracy by reviewing and resolving discrepancies with fillers, while keeping information up-to-date through regular communication with fillers and raw material suppliers.
  • Generates and maintains a profile of regulatory requirements per country across the trading block, checking our ingredients, mixtures, formulations, labeling, packaging marking and packaging complies with all requirements in the region/country it is sold.
  • Confirms that storage, manufacturing and distribution connected with products complies with all regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees the selection and engagement of external consultants to create and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and any other safety or regulatory documentation for each product sold, ensuring all materials are current and compliant with the regulatory requirements of the regions where the products are distributed.
  • Creates and maintains product dossiers for each formulation, collating regulatory and associated information.
  • Prepares and submits documents to government agencies (ECHA, registrations etc.) and NGOs with assistance from outside consultants when necessary.
  • Design and maintain compliance systems and processes, ensuring they are updated in line with external regulatory changes to provide ongoing support for Product Support, Marketing, Technical Inquiries, and Quality Control functions.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of regulations within the trading bloc and related interpretations, as well as company policies. Stays informed on current and upcoming regulatory changes that could impact product compliance. Provides regular regulatory updates to relevant teams, including R&D, Operations, and Marketing.
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting all compliance risks.
  • Identifies and assesses necessary external compliance partners and manages the partnership, including monitoring of their performance to ensure alignment with contractual agreements.
  • Acts as an internal Regulatory Compliance expert and provides advice as and when necessary.
  • Builds effective relationships and networks with external filling partners, suppliers and industry committees. Where possible participates and influences in discussion that have impact on current and future business.
  1. Facilitates arrangements for health and safety at UK sites to ensure protection of the health, safety and welfare of the UK tribe and of others attending these sites:
  • Supports the development, briefing and communication of strategies and policies.
  • Develops and executes the health and safety plan and management system in accordance with legal guidelines.
  • Sets health and safety objectives and goals in collaboration with the Health and Safety Committee, coaches and senior management to address identified shortfalls, promote continued strong health and safety focused culture and good safety behaviors.
  • Establishes and coordinates systems to monitor performance, reviews implementation of workplace safety arrangements and facilitates the identification, completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations, in collaboration with Tribe Members and Coaches, to identify issues needing attention, ensuring timely remedy.
  • Identifies areas for improvement and recommends changes to protect and educate employees on prevention of health problems through safety training programs.
  • Collaborates in the creation and communication of working and facilities management arrangements, equipment, operational practices, processes, and waste management at WD-40’s UK sites to ensure compliance with current UK Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
  • Provides direction on health and safety to Facilities & Safety Coordinator, HR, facilities and projects coordinators on the management and coordination of health and safety relating to building facilities, contractor management and people to ensure the health and safety plan and important information is understood and operated by all employees and sub-contractors.
  • Liaises with employees, external consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers on health and safety matters and facilitates instruction and training for Health and safety using external providers as appropriate.
  • Oversees implementation of the company’s on-line adverse event recording system, facilitates investigations into incidents, accidents and cases of ill health, ensuring actions identified to address problems and prevent recurrence are implemented in a timely manner. Reports accidents and incidents to the Health and Safety Executive as required by UK Health and Safety Legislation.
  1. Budgeting
  • Review and approve charges including setting up new vendors, manage invoice approval maintaining appropriate records.
  • Working with the leadership team develop and provide input and oversight against departmental budget.
  • Working with leadership have the visibility and understanding to track performance against budget.
  • Ensure that vendors are delivering against services invoiced for and take appropriate action to remedy.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years in a Compliance role within a manufacturing /product-based commercial organization.
  • Knowledge of SDS requirements and development.

Experience of general health and safety management and arrangements in offices, general laboratory working and Facilities Management is desirable
