We are seeking a motivated and reliable Food Technician to join a dynamic team in a secondary school in Chorley. This is a full-time temporary position, ideal for someone with a passion for food technology and a strong ability to support teaching and learning in a practical environment.As a Food Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our teaching staff to deliver high-quality lessons, maintaining an excellent learning environment, and inspiring students to excel in Food Science and Nutrition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Food Technology department in setting up and maintaining practical lessons.
- Prepare and organize equipment and materials for food-related classes.
- Assist with the safe and effective use of kitchen equipment.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to in the food technology area.
- Maintain stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventories.
- Support students during practical lessons and demonstrations.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining equipment and workspaces.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a food technician or similar role is desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety and health & safety regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Enthusiastic and proactive approach to supporting teachers and students.
- Friendly and supportive working environment.
