SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: England, Greater London, WandsworthJob Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £90 - £110 per day
Job Duties:
- Supporting the educational, social, and emotional development of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities for SEN students.
- Providing one-to-one support to students with SEN to help them achieve their learning goals.
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Assisting with behaviour management and implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
- Prior experience working with children or young people with SEN is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team is crucial.
Education:
Relevant qualifications in Education or Special Educational Needs are desirable but not essential.
Experience:
Prior experience working in a school or educational setting with SEN students is highly advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of SEN strategies and interventions is required.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students is essential.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies is necessary for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred.
- Training in Makaton, PECS, or other communication strategies for SEN students is highly desirable.
Working Conditions:
- Working hours are typically school hours, Monday to Friday.
- This role may involve assisting students with personal care and mobility needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
