We are seeking a General Manager to lead the Operations of The Boilermaker, a an independent neighbourhood cocktail pub which opened in Dec 2023. We are all about cold beer, classic cocktails and good wine.
As a General Manager, you will ideally be at General Manager level, or an experienced AM/AGM looking to take the next step in their career in hospitality business.
Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Owner, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure the smooth functioning of all aspects of the venue, including events, bar operations, cleanliness, and service.
  • Delivering a memorable visit for every Boilermaker guest by upholding high standards and continuously seeking opportunities to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Manage and oversee the production and security.
  • Controlling site costs and driving the sales performance of the bars to achieve financial objectives and profit goals.
  • Effective stock control to ensure margins are met and all menu items can be delivered.
  • Contributing to the local marketing strategy to drive footfall and average spending.
  • Sales planning and idea generation for new site activity.
  • Effective shift management of the on-site team.
  • Recruitment and training of diverse staff members, including bartenders.
  • Monitor and manage all health and safety systems on-site, ensuring Bartenders comply with market regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Liaison with local authorities, stakeholders, and councils to maintain a strong working relationship
  • Contract management of cleaning, security, maintenance, waste, etc

The Ideal Candidate for this role:

  • Proven experience managing, bar/club or pubs.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Confident, articulate and highly motivated.
  • Honest, reliable, and hard-working
  • Passionate, positive, and proactive
  • Strong people coaching skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices in F&B service operations.
  • Hold a personal licence.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role or experience AM/AGM

Full training will be provided, but the ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Beers and Mixology.
