Main duties and responsibilities (Full training will be given over the course of the apprenticeship) Assist in the successful completion of the Trusts accounts and financial returns. Produce the monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and action any changes necessary to maintain the integrity of the balance sheet.
Working with the Financial Accountant in the preparation of several specific accounts schedules including full working papers. The monthly completion of the income and expenditure analysis The completion of the RTA returns to the CRU. Assist in the completion of the monthly vat return ready for submission.
Preparation of various month end journals to include, lease cars, childcare vouchers, vat, pharmacy, RTA. Ensuring all adjustments are posted accurately and to agreed month end deadlines. General To be able to communicate clearly and effectively to a wide range of individuals, e.g., colleagues from other NHS bodies during the agreement of balances exercise, and assisting external and internal auditors.
To carry out any other duties as may be required from time to time to satisfy the requirements of the Trust and as specified by the Financial Accountant, that is commensurate with the grading of the post. All duties to be carried out in accordance with department policies, procedures, standing financial instructions and standing orders.

Upon commencing employment with the Trust, all employees (except Medical & Dental Staff on national terms and conditions) are subject to a probationary period lasting a period of six months with an option to extend for a further six months to a total of 12 months.
