Subject Leader of Modern Foreign Languages
From September 2025 we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), to lead the department in delivering an exciting and dynamic High School and Sixth Form curriculum.
This post presents a rare opportunity for a talented and passionate practitioner to make the step up to Head of MFL and work in collaboration with a talented and experienced team of languages teachers. Ideally, applicants will have a Spanish specialism and either French, German or Mandarin as a second subject.
As Head of MFL you will join a highly regarded, established and extremely successful department. The ideal candidate will be an excellent practitioner who will convey their passion for all areas of MFL to pupils of all ages and ability. They will be willing to make a full contribution to the development of the teaching and learning of MFL throughout the school.They will be expected to deliver exciting and varied lessons which engage pupils and encourage them to develop their skills and understanding of the subject. The ideal candidate should show initiative and confidence within one or more disciplines, aiming to stretch our able pupils whilst also having the flexibility to support our less able pupils.
