Job DescriptionProvide a range of targeted and bespoke supports that help to remove the poverty related barriers that affect the most disadvantaged young people within the school establishment in their ability to learn, ensuring the introduction of appropriate initiatives that help to build confidence, resilience and connect young people back to learning, in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives; specifically in relation to the Community Plan; Single Outcome Agreement; Education Service Strategic Plan; Early Learning and Childcare Plan and Children and Young Persons Service Plans incorporating the Pre-Birth to Age 8 Joint Commissioning Strategy.

RequirementsThe duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.

Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.

ResponsibilitiesWe follow the national guidance in relation to pre-employment checks namely “Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment”. The IndividualThis is a temporary full time term time post based within St Joseph's Academy, Kilmarnock, the post is temporary until 20 December 2024.

The hours of work are 35 hours per week to be worked at the direction of the line manager.

The full time salary of the post is between £30,176 - £32,287 per annum

The actual full time term time salary is between £25,881.38 - £27,692.14 per annum.
