About the role:
Working within our Digital Applications Business Unit as a Junior Data Analyst this position will suit someone who can provide data analysis expertise in our client projects. This is an entry-level opportunity.
You will join a highly experienced team in our Data & AI practice who are supporting Sword’s clients on their journey to become data driven organisations.
As a Junior Data Analyst, you'll learn to collect, process, and analyse data that helps drive business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in data analysis and grow your skills in a supportive environment.
You will be involved with:
- Support Data Collection and Organisation:
- Assisting in gathering data from various internal and external sources
- Liaise with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements
- Help to identify and access relevant data sources for specific business questions
- Participate in cross-departmental meetings to better understand business challenges
- Data Preparation and Cleaning:
- Perform initial data cleaning and preparation tasks
- Ensure data quality and consistency across datasets
- Reporting and Visualization:
- Create reports and visualisations using a suite of data tools
- Tailoring visual outputs to meet stakeholder needs and preferences
- Assist in presenting and explaining dashboards to non-technical audiences
- Project Support:
- Aiding senior team members in various stages of larger data projects
- Help to translate business requirements into actionable data analysis tasks
- Contributing insights and observations in team discussions about data findings
- Continuous Learning and Skill Development:
- Actively learning and applying new data analysis techniques on the job
- Attending internal and external training sessions to improve technical and soft skills
- Staying informed about industry trends and emerging best practices in data analysis
Requirements
Here are the key skills and experience relevant to this role:
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Eagerness to learn new data analysis tools and techniques
- Good communication skills to explain data concepts to non-technical team members
- Ability to work well in a team and take direction from senior analysts
- Basic understanding of SQL and Python preferable
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Experience with data-related coursework or personal projects
