The successful applicant will be working within an established secondary, specialist multi-professional Mental Health Service. You will be contributing to the development of the psychology community pathway and providing a group and individual therapy programme that meets the needs of people living within North Shropshire.
We have a very supportive psychology presence within the Shropshire Care Group lead by a group of very experienced Clinical Psychologists. We are offering the successful candidate the opportunity to work alongside a variety of psychologists. We have regular CMHS and professional peer psychology meetings which offers an excellent opportunity for career development, sharing of knowledge and case management support.The Care Group also offers career developments opportunities and excellent training.
Main duties of the job- To support and enhance psychological care by assisting qualified practitioners in the delivery and evaluation of psychological interventions that meet Trust and Directorate objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations.
- To develop and deliver therapeutic interventions / programme of care across North Shropshire.
- To support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the Community Mental Health service, providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with the Clinical/Counselling Psychologist and within the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.
- To work with community clients and staff within both primary and secondary care across mental health services. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
- To attend weekly MDT meeting and contribute to the overall Service delivery of mental health care.
- To be office based in order to deliver a variety of different psychological interventions to clients with Severe and Enduring mental health needs.
