Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work with the IT Asset Management team assisting with stock control, stock reporting, and provision of replenishment services ensuring stock levels are maintained. The role is responsible for responding to requests for equipment according to agreed service standards.

Supporting and assisting operational teams with site visits for inventory audit to validate the status of assets and coordinating receipt and dispatch of assets. Contributes to the effective and consistent provision of SCW IT services by providing IT Asset administration, across all IT operational services, to agreed standards and service.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery of the IT Asset Management Service covering all customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ensure all activities carried out by the team follow NHS standards, regulatory, and local policies for security and control of data bearing assets.
  • Ensure support for continuity of service, deployment and availability of equipment for clinical and business administration systems as agreed with customers.

Education

  • Educated to NVQ 3 / GCSE level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience.
Desirable criteria
  • ITIL Foundation

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Track record of working with technology/process in a technical environment.
Desirable criteria
  • 1 plus years’ experience of stock control and management processes in a large organisation (500 users plus).
  • Knowledge of Service Management and Service Delivery principles, specifically experience of working in an ITIL compliant organisation and working with an ITIL compliant operating model.

  • Problem solving skills and ability to prioritise and respond to sudden unexpected demands.

  • Frequent moderate physical effort for several short periods for stock management.
  • Must be able to travel (frequent basis) to locations within SCW’s support remit.
  • Clean driving licence
NHS SCW offers agile and hybrid ways of working. Hybrid working is a type of flexible working where employees blend working from different locations. It offers the employee the ability to choose to work wherever and however they are most productive, whether it be in an office, at home, or a customer site.

Office location can be flexible within the NHS SCW estate and will be agreed upon offer of contract.

NHS SCW staff that are in posts considered to be agile will not be expected to attend office space for general working but will be required on occasions to attend face to face meetings and collaborative working sessions that may require travel to their home base or other locations across the estate or customer sites.
