The Data Development team sits within the Analysis and Performance Team in the Strategy, Policy and Analysis Directorate and plays a vital role in the delivery of the Insolvency Service’s operations, by designing and developing modern data products to deliver value from the agency’s data assets.
As a data engineer, you’ll work at the cutting edge of how people interact and are empowered by digital government services. Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Recognise opportunities to re-use existing data flows.
- Contribute to the build of data streaming systems.
- Optimise the code to ensure processes perform optimally.
- Assist work on database management.
- Develop and enhance the utilisation of our Power BI deployment.
You will gain:
- Experience in designing, building and deploying efficient, scalable, automated ETL/ELT pipelines such as traditional data warehousing, modern cloud data warehousing, data lake and delta lake approaches.
- Experience of designing and developing data solutions on public cloud (Azure).
- Experience of one or more Programming Languages – e.g. SQL, Python.
- Understanding of data storage, data modelling and database technologies.
- Exposure to Continuous integration and deployment tools, such as GitHub.
- Experience in collaborating with digital and technology project teams as they design and build new operational systems and data streams.
- Experience in administering enterprise-level data services.
- Experience in working across the Analysis and Performance function to maximise the value of the agency’s data assets.
