About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Computing Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Denton. This full-time position begins after Easter and will cover a long-term absence. The school has a strong reputation for academic excellence and an inclusive ethos, making it an ideal environment for a committed educator to thrive.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured Computing lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of Key Stage 5 teaching depending on experience. You will play a key role in fostering digital literacy and computational thinking skills, preparing students for the ever-evolving world of technology.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Computing lessons that cater to a range of abilities.
- Teach Computer Science and ICT across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Key Stage 5 teaching experience is desirable but not essential).
- Develop students’ understanding of coding, programming languages, algorithms, cybersecurity, and data analysis.
- Encourage problem-solving and critical thinking skills through practical and theoretical learning.
- Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
- Utilise innovative teaching methods and resources to engage students in the subject.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic performance, creating a positive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Computing Department to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Computing at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (experience at Key Stage 5 is advantageous).
- Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science and ICT.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Passion for inspiring students and helping them develop digital and computational skills.
