In conjunction with PEF team, the post holder will be responsible for supporting the provision of high quality multi-professional learning environments within The Northern Care Alliance. The successful candidate will be required to work locally within services where inter-professional learning opportunities can be promoted and support increase in placement experience and capacity.

The post holder will be required to support the breadth of the student experience, which may require cross boundary working, and contribute to the delivery of the new standards to support learning in practice.

This PEF role will predominantly be supporting AHP learners across the NCA.

Main duties of the job

Assessing the quality of practice learning environments; ensuring all service areas/ placement providers have up to date action plans in place to contribute to the annual quality monitoring of Learning and Development Agreements.

Support the development and ensuring a sufficient provision practice supervisors/assessors across relevant service areas, providing supervision and support structures, building education in practice capability, consistency and efficiency.

Contribute to the structuring and coordinating inter-professional learning activity across a service area(s).

Participating in Quality Assurance Multi-Professional site visits across organisations.

Work with the PEF team to ensure an adequate breadth, scope and number of placement experiences

Developing and maintaining links with Education Providers to practice supervisors/assessors in practice to increase placement experience and increase student capacity.

Professional Registration

Essential criteria
  • 1st level degree Professional qualification to a minimum of degree level.
  • Up-to-date professional registration with the NMC/HCPC.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Masters level study relating to education in practice or willing to work towards.

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of teaching, supervising and assessing healthcare students in the practice setting.
  • Experience of developing and implementing new systems and procedures.
Desirable criteria
  • Practical experience of facilitating change.
  • Staff management/staff supervision.

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills able to engage and build effective relationships at all levels in stakeholder organisations.
  • Ability to teach and facilitate in a variety of settings with different groups of staff.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Substantial experience of IT systems and software packages.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of inter-professional learning theory.
