Job Description
Working within the HR team the HR Manager/Generalist will support the HR service provision, which may include national units based outside of London. This role is key in the delivery of national workforce planning, recruitment and resourcing and providing advice in complex HR matters.
The post holder will also:
- Work effectively with HR Talent & Attraction colleagues, vetting, compliance and assurance;
- Review and develop revised or new policies and initiatives;
- Analyse workforce planning activity, manage and monitor the co-ordination of recruitment, selection and retention of staff;
- Provide strategic HR input nationally to colleagues when delivering regional collaboration projects and mergers;
- Contribute to the delivery of career pathways to support succession planning and career development of staff;
- Work alongside the Talent and Attraction colleagues to support and attend national recruitment events.
The Successful Applicant
The successful HR Manager/Generalist will posses the following:
- Knowledge of recruitment and selection processes, understanding the time lines and the approach required to optimise processes to align with activity;
- Strong influencing skills, the ability and confidence to challenge current practices and develop new ideas, solutions and business cases - ensuring HR activities can be delivered with maximum benefit and are aligned to the organisation's wider strategy and priorities;
- Strong communication skills (both verbally and in writing);
- Strong relationship management and partnership skills;
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to plan and manage multiple tasks, and competing priorities;
- Extensive problem solving skills and the ability to advise managers on change management, consultation and implementation processes;
- Previously worked within a Public Service or Government organisation in the UK.

This is a 6 months (potentially extendable) interim role based in London.- Competitive day rate of £400-£500 dependent on experience
- Hours of work: 9.00am - 5.00pm
