Are you an experienced Mental Health Nurse/OT/Social Worker with experience of working within Eating Disorders, who wants to develop or consolidate leadership and operational management skills?

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Adult Community Eating Disorder service in Oxfordshire, (OACED) as the Clinical Team Manager. The Oxon Adult Community Eating Disorder Service has been through significant transformation over the past 2- 3 years.

It is a county wide service, with a team base in Central Oxford.

You will be part of a team of dedicated and experienced multi-disciplinary professionals who deliver a range of evidence-based treatments for those with an eating disorder. The team are friendly, energetic and dynamic, valuing innovation and creative ways to develop the service, always focusing on excellent, evidenced based patient centred care.

Main duties of the job

You will hold overall management responsibility for all aspects of service delivery and operational matters for Oxfordshire Adult Eating Disorder Team.

You will lead a rich multidisciplinary team with a broad range of experience, providing great leadership with enthusiasm for service transformation and determination to provide outstanding quality care. You’ll be coordinating and motivating the team, having robust oversight of waiting lists and working with colleagues to ensure the team deliver against KPIs.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To take operational responsibility for the Multi-Disciplinary Team. This includes monitoring and managing workloads, caseload management, job planning, management supervision, authorising leave and expenses and implementing systems to ensure safe, effective working of the service
  • To be responsible for the co-ordination and management of the team in providing a safe, effective and therapeutic clinical team
  • To work in partnership with key agencies across Oxfordshire, regionally and nationally to ensure strong and active relationships and promoting Service developments and shared outcomes for people with an eating disorder
  • To promote collaborative working with the Leadership team and wider team to provide an evidence based, high quality, responsive and safe service

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the Oxfordshire Out of Hours On-Call Manager’s Rota.

Person specification

Knowledge Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Professional knowledge acquired through degree/diploma
  • Understanding of the legal and social policy issues influencing the work environment
  • Knowledge of eating disorder services
  • Knowledge of latest healthcare policy e.g. NHS Long Term Plan

Qualification- Accademic/Skills/Professional

Essential criteria
  • Profession Health or Social Care Qualification
  • Current professional registration with appropriate professional body e.g. NMC, HCPC
  • Post qualification Management or leadership qualification and/or willingness to work toward this
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching/mentoring qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • highly extensive experience in experience in a mental health setting, working with adults or young people with mental illness and / or learning disabilities
  • Experience of leading a development or change within a service setting
  • Post qualification experience in a mental health setting, or Eating Disorder setting (Inpatient or Community)
  • Understanding of evidence-based practice and the ability to demonstrate how this influences clinical practice
  • Experience of Management supervision and case management in a clinical setting.
  • Experience of audit process at service level and a contribute to wider Trust audit
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of developing practice (nursing, social work, occupational therapy, psychological therapies)
