An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Community Therapy Team as a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant.

As a vital part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to delivering a patient-centred rehabilitation service, working closely with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

✅ Deliver rehabilitation through therapy interventions, which may include support with personal care tasks, cognition and mobility
✅ Carry out rehabilitation plans as delegated by occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
✅ Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with service users, families, and the therapy team.
✅ Be flexible to support the team during peak service times.

✅ Participate in the 7-day service rota, including weekends, delivering rehabilitation between 8am and 8pm.

About You
  • Passionate about patient care and rehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Organised with good time management skills.
  • Experience in a healthcare or therapy setting is desirable but not essential.

Qualification/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Level 3 education or equivalent e.g. BTEC, NVQ 3 and A Levels
  • Significant experience, skills, knowledge and experience equivalent to level 3 with a willingness to achieve this qualification
  • Good knowledge of health and social care
Desirable criteria
  • Working towards or achieved Diploma in Occupational Therapy Support / Physiotherapy Support / Rehabilitation

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working across statutory or voluntary organisations
  • Experienced team worker
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a role of supporting therapists
  • Experience of working with the relevant patient group
