An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and innovative Lead Maths Teacher to join the esteemed team at a high-achieving Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Totnes, Devon. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver high-quality mathematics instruction tailored to the diverse needs of SEN students.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies and individualized education plans (IEPs) to support student progress.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Mentor and guide fellow mathematics teachers, providing professional development and support to enhance instructional practices.
- Assess and monitor student progress, using data-driven approaches to inform teaching and learning.
- Foster a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence in mathematics.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization in Mathematics.
- Extensive experience in teaching mathematics, preferably within an SEN setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEN teaching methodologies and the ability to adapt curriculum to meet the needs of all learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
- Proven track record of achieving high standards of teaching and learning outcomes.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of educational best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SEN-specific qualifications or training.
- Experience in a leadership or mentoring role within an educational setting.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and resources used in SEN education.
