Studio Support Assistant
Position Overview:
The Studio Support Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for ITG employees, freelancers, and visitors while they are on set or utilising the John Lewis Creative Studio. This role is pivotal in ensuring that both the studio space and back-of-house areas meet the needs of all stakeholders, efficiently directing any queries to the appropriate teams or departments.
Key Responsibilities:
First line studio support: The primary point of contact for all freelancers and teams working in the John Lewis Creative Studio at Origin Park. Ensuring clear communication of daily information, offering on-set and in-building support and providing comprehensive assistance for all on-site activities.Understanding daily schedules, being aware of who is on-site and the purposes of the space and ensuring sets are fully prepared to enable smooth and efficient operations throughout the day.
Team collaboration: Collaborating closely with teams across photography, set build, art direction, production, and post-production to address and resolve queries. Communicating with key stakeholders for each set to ensure smooth workflows whilst effectively managing any challenges that arise during the day.
Studio Maintenance: Maintaining back-of-house studio areas to a professional and safe standard, performing routine daily upkeep, and coordinating repairs for equipment as needed.
Health & Safety: Assisting the Studio Manager with maintaining risk registers, managing SRMC processes, and ensuring all health and safety documentation is up to date for the studio and shared spaces.
Kit planning: Collaborating with Shoot Production to plan future kit needs, ensuring the appropriate standard of kit is hired or purchased. Additionally, supporting shoot production by assisting in compiling detailed kit lists.
Photography equipment maintenance: managing and maintenance of all photography studio equipment, including cameras and lighting. Conducting regular audits and maintaining an efficient tracking system for all equipment, both in the studio and on location.
Stock management: Acting as the first point of contact for any stock-related queries or requests, providing excellent service to teams using the studio. Ensuring prop stores are well-maintained, audited, and stocked with on-trend, seasonal items in collaboration with Art Direction and Sample Coordination.Oversee orders for the Creative Studio’s back-of-house areas, including kitchen, hair and make-up, and prop stores. Work with Stock Coordinators to manage shoot-specific equipment, including hired kit and materials, ensuring timely delivery and proper storage for upcoming shoots.
IT support: Assisting with immediate IT issues, including log-on and access problems, by maintaining a strong relationship with the IT team. Ensure studio computer equipment is well-maintained, accessible, and calibrated, with any IT concerns promptly escalated to IT.Supporting freelance talent with daily IT and equipment needs, including updates, internal access, and calibration.
Continued professional development: Stay informed about industry-standard equipment and proactively suggest equipment trials to enhance still and moving image output.
Requirements

- Knowledge of eCommerce studio, shoot requirements and process (fashion and home).
- Good knowledge of Macs and supporting software
- Ability to communicate effective suggestions for process improvements and procedures.
- Passionate about photography and video.
- Strong organisation, administrative and planning skills
- Ability to communicate across all levels with employees, Freelancers and across multiple teams
- Ability to work flexibly in a fast paced environment.
- Decision making and prioritisation skills when responding to daily queries, multitasking
- Attention to detail required and accuracy regarding equipment and supplies auditing
- Understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures and maintaining a safe working environment
- Some knowledge/experience of studio operations
