- Monitor and control process parameters in the control room to ensure consistent power production and steam turbine operation.
- Assist Shift Team Leader with plant operation, monitoring, and first-line fault diagnosis.
- Communicate with team members for parameter adjustments and report abnormalities.
- Take immediate corrective action during emergencies to protect people, equipment, and production.
- Optimise usage of raw materials, chemicals, and plant utilities while monitoring environmental emissions.
- Prepare operational reports and assist in troubleshooting and repairing plant systems.
- Safely shut down and restart plant sections according to procedures and parameters.
- Participate in start-up and commissioning of boiler, turbine generator, and auxiliaries after shutdowns.
- Operate refuse cranes and mobile plant equipment for efficient operation and ash collection.
- Manage public inquiries and report health, safety, and environmental incidents or close calls.
- Experience in Energy from Waste plants
- Experience of other power stations (coal/biomass)
- Operations experience
- Ability to look through problems methodically and make decisions quickly
- Be physically fit and be able to apply themselves physically to problems on plant.
- Computer/IT literate with experience of DCS
