Cover Supervisor - Great Yarmouth

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cover Supervisor to join an Alternative Provision school on a long-term supply basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a minimum of 6 months experience as a Cover Supervisor, ideally with additional experience supporting students with SEND.
The alternative provision school offers tailored educational support for children and young people who find mainstream education unsuitable for their needs. These schools provide a nurturing and flexible environment, addressing specific challenges such as behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.Additionally, these schools play a crucial role in preparing young people for a smooth transition and re-engagement back into mainstream schooling.
As Cover Supervisor you will:
Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, and delivering pre-set lesson plans.Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies.
Supporting students with additional needs, including those with SEN, to ensure they are fully engaged in learning.
Building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to promote a collaborative learning environment.
Flexibility to adapt to the needs of a varied and dynamic timetable.
Requirements to be a Cover Supervisor:
- Minimum 6 months experience as a Cover Supervisor in a school setting (essential).
- Experience working in an Alternative Provision or with students with SEN (desirable).
- A proactive, adaptable, and resilient approach to supporting students.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
- A genuine passion for education and for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
