Advanced Clinical Practitioner- Emergency Care
Job overview
To be a qualified Nurse or AHP Advanced Practitioner to work as part of the Urgent Treatment Centre team to provide expert autonomous care and management of those attending all areas of the Urgent Treatment Centre.
Main duties of the job
To make complex, autonomous decisions utilising expert practice and knowledge. To request and interpret laboratory and radiological investigation which are condition appropriate. To promote, implement and evaluate evidence-based practice.
The practitioner will participate in the provision of specialist education, training programmes and clinical leadership within the UTC. They will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and review medical and nursing protocols, guidelines and pathways within urgent care.This role will see the ACP working across adult and paediatric urgent care.

Qualifications/Training
Essential criteria- Nurse/AHP with UK NMC/HCPC qualification
- MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent recognised qualification
- Independent Non-Medical Prescriber with current registration
- Minor Injuries- Level 7 Module
- Minor Ailments- Level 7 Module
- Advanced Life Support
- Advanced Paediatric Life Support/European Advanced Paediatric Life Support
- Level 2 trauma course (ATLS/ETC/ATNCC)
Experience
Essential criteria- Significant years of post registration experience
- Significant years of experience working at NHS Band 7 level
- Experience working in urgent, emergency or acute care.
- Experience of working an urgent care centre or primary care service
- Experience in managing unwell and injured children
- Experience of working within a Same Day Emergency Care service
